Specialist Computing is a software development company focussed on web application development, bespoke systems and services.
Formed in 1989 by Mike Pomeroy to fill a niche in the Police and Courts database consulting market.
Today we build a diverse set of web and database applications.
Specialist Computing is proud to be associated with the following organisations.
The Tattoo is the largest military air show in the world, with the aim of raising funds for RAF charities, whilst providing entertainment for the public.
Mike Pomeroy and Kate Starmer both work on the site management team with a group of volunteers. Kate has been a volunteer since 2006 and Mike since 1984!
Specialist Computing has developed software (including a website, plus an app for iOS and Android) to assist with task management for the site services team and contractors.
Julia's House is the only children’s hospice charity in Dorset dedicated to helping life-limited children and their families across the county and in South Wiltshire. By running quizzes in aid of Julia’s House Mike has raised £1,500 in 2016 alone.
Allendale is a Wimborne based football club which is supported by Specialist Computing with Mike Pomeroy acting as Club Secretary for the three teams and management of the Club website.
We are proud that we provided an online payment facility and supporting database to the group of volunteers who helped to raise over £4million pound in the days before Sir Terry Wogan retired from his BBC 2 daily morning radio show.
These funds went to the BBC Children in Need Appeal and such was the level of purchases that our support provided on a voluntary basis helped to raise such a significant amount for a fantastic charity.
